Athletics

Our co-curricular programs offer a wide variety of opportunities for participation, success, building character and fun.

St. Mary's co-curricular goals are to help each participant to grow physically and spiritually, to teach Christian values, character qualities and team value through team prayer, team masses and team unity.  We hope to develop the whole person through our programs and activities and to have our students be positive role models and representative of St. Mary's.

At St. Mary's we want to provide all students an opportunity to participate in our co-curricular programs.  Emphasis at the lower level will be on participation and learning of skills and not just on winning and losing.  More than 80% of our students participate in organized co-curricular activities, which means eight out of ten students are involved in after-school activities.  We have a no-cut policy in our activities for the ninth and tenth grades, as participation is very important to us.

St. Mary's has a strong and outstanding athletic tradition and is a member of the Western Dakota Association (WDA) and the North Dakota High School Activities Association (NDHSAA) in seven boys' sports and six girls' sports: boys' soccer, football, wrestling, boys' basketball, baseball, boys' golf, boys' and girls' track, volleyball, girls' basketball, girls' tennis, girls' soccer, cheerleading, & dance team.  We also have co-op programs with Bismarck Public Schools in boys' and girls' swimming, cross country, girls' golf, gymnastics, hockey and boys' tennis.
